Tennis takes a 9-0 win to highlight Senior Day

The Wabash College tennis team celebrated Senior Day and its final home game of the 2024 spring season with a 9-0 North Coast Athletic Conference win over Ohio Wesleyan University on Sunday afternoon.

The 9-0 win came 24 hours after the 9-0 win in Wittenberg


Wabash (12-7, 4-1 NCAC) honored the seniors Cole Borden And Liam Grennon before their last home game. The two won their last home doubles game with an 8-2 victory in the second round. Augusto Ghidini And Cole Shifferly combined for an 8-2 win in first doubles, and Ethan Koeneman And Rafael Rin scored an 8-2 victory in the third double flight.


Shifferly picked up a straight-sets win in his first singles match with scores of 7-6 (7-5) and 6-4. Ghidini earned a three-set win in second singles. He lost the first set 4-6 before picking up wins 6-4 and 10-7. Borden earned a 6-3, 6-1 victory at third singles. Tharakesh Ashokar won 6-4, 6-0 in fourth singles. Vittorio Bona posted back-to-back scores of 6-1 to secure a straight-sets win at number five singles. Koeneman finished the game with a 6-0, 6-3 win in the sixth singles.


Wabash ends the regular season next Saturday and Sunday with road games at Denison and Kenyon.
