The crack of
the club, the ping of the golf ball, the rush of the free throw, that
ksssh the skate blade on the ice and that explosive belly
laugh; These are the reverberations in Jim's universe
The presence of power on this earth.
Delivered at
Grace Hospital in Halifax, weighing nearly 15 pounds, to Cynthia
(Williams) and Pat Power of Queensport, Nova Scotia, James Patrick
Power was a natural athlete. As a very young lad, if not

Golf became
Jim's passion when his knees prevented him from playing
Ball, men's league hockey or pick-up basketball
He was an avid golfer in retirement and became a member of the OC
at Antigonish Golf and Country Club, where he scored four holes-in-ones
during his tenure there. As much as he loved playing, he loved it too
the camaraderie and friendships he made there

Apart from

Jays fan Jim loved woodworking and philosophy. He often tinkered with it

Jim was a
gentle and thoughtful soul who gave so much of his time and talents.
He was a beloved husband, father, father-in-law, brother,

Jim passed
peaceful and surrounded by his loved ones in April

Power, his mother Cynthia Power and his daughter Charlotte

Jim is
survived by his wife, Jeanette Power; Daughter, Rachel Power (Kenny
Boyle); Sisters Heather (Roger) Zwingler, Donna (Keith) Wheldon, Bella
(eds.) Hommel and Cynthia (Billy) McFarland; Brother, Barry (Sue)
Perfomance; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and
grandnephews.
The family
would like to express a special thanks to the Victorian Order of
Nurses, Dr. Rice and her team as well as the entire palliative care staff
St. Martha's Regional Hospital.
