0

The Edmonton Stingers host the Saskatchewan Rattlers in their home opener on Sunday. Both teams will be looking to continue their undefeated season.

Play begins at 4:00 p.m. MT / 6:00 p.m. ET at the Edmonton EXPO Centre. Live coverage will be available on CEBL+ powered by BetVictor, TSN+, Courtside 1891 (outside North America) and on the CEBL app for iOS and Android devices. The game will also be broadcast on Game+ in Canada and NLSE in the United States.

The Stingers are fresh off an 81-77 win over Montreal Alliance. Guard Davion Warren scored 30 points on 73 percent shooting. Warren sank four three-pointers and also grabbed three rebounds.

One of the main factors in the win against the Alliance was Edmonton's defense, which managed 11 turnovers and forced Montreal into 20 turnovers.

Saskatchewan recorded a convincing 98:86 victory against Vancouver in their last game. Jalen Harris was the Rattlers' best player with 27 points, 50 percent shooting, nine assists, six rebounds and two steals.

Elijah Harkless, Maurice Calloo and Grant Basile also put in great performances for Saskatchewan in the win over the Bandits, scoring 19 points each.

The Rattlers defended uncompromisingly, which led to the Bandits making 34 percent of their shots from the field and 27 percent of their shots beyond the three-point line.

A duel to watch out for

Fans will have their hands full on Sunday as the two dynamic guards Davion Warren and Jalen Harris face off.

Harris has been in top form this season, averaging 27 points per game, six assists and three rebounds. He was key to the comeback win against Montreal, and his ability to stretch the court and get fired up quickly is on a whole other level.

Davion Warren has been fantastic for the Stingers, averaging 19.3 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.7 steals per game. Warren can play on both ends of the court, making shots on one side and retrieving the ball on the other.

Season series 2023

The teams faced each other three times in 2023, with the Stingers winning two of the three meetings against the Rattlers.
