Auditions for Disney's High School Musical Jr. take place on Stage 212 at La Salle – Shaw Local

Stage 212 in La Salle has announced auditions for the children's theater production of “Disney's High School Musical, Jr.” for 2024. They will be held on Friday, June 14 at 6 p.m. and Saturday, June 15 at 11 a.m. at the theater, 700 First St. in La Salle. Anyone who wants to audition should attend one.

Recalls begin Saturday, June 15 at 5:00 p.m. Disney's High School Musical, Jr. is a full production by kids for kids and is open to all children in grades four through ten.

Director Nora Maier will cast approximately 25 children in a variety of leading and supporting roles. Auditors should be prepared to sing up to 32 bars or 60 seconds of a musical song (not a song from the show) and bring their own background music (not an a cappella song). The song must be memorized. A speaker and AUX cable will be provided for background music. The choreographer will lead a short dance audition. Auditors should wear closed shoes (crocs, sandals, bare feet, or flip-flops are not allowed) and clothing they feel comfortable dancing in. Everyone is asked to read from the script. Excerpts will be provided at the audition. Auditors must complete the online registration form at stage212.org before participating.

Rehearsals for Disney's High School Musical, Jr. are Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Not every actor is called to every rehearsal. Performances are August 8-11. For more information, visit Stage 212 online at stage212.org or on Facebook.
