Tribune Notebook: LQPV leads All-Academic team – West Central Tribune

The Camden Conference has announced its spring All-Academic team and Lac qui Parle Valley leads the way with 21 student-athletes.

The All-Academic team consists of 11th and 12th grade students with a grade point average of 3.75 or better. Here is a list of regional teams by school:

* Baseball — Matthew Arndt (Jr.), Baxter Kalthoff (Jr.), Landon Weber (Jr.), Bradyn Danziesen (Sr.), TJ Mitchell (Sr.), Kaden Mortenson (Sr.).

Madi Norsten ended her Willmar softball season with a bang, being named the Central Lakes Conference Performer of the Week.

Norsten, a junior, had 4-of-5 doubles, home runs and seven RBIs last week.

Former Willmar WarHawks forward Gus Cantwell has committed to continue his hockey career at New England College. New England College is an NCAA Division III institution located in Henniker, New Hampshire. The team finished last season with a record of 4-20-1.

* Three members of the Southwest Minnesota State women's golf team with ties to the area were named to the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Athletic Conference All-Academic Team: Jacqueline Gossen, Ashley Trongard and Berkley Steffen.

Gossen is a senior from Brooten who played for Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa. She is studying accounting and finance and is a three-time Academic All-American Scholar.

Trongard is a final year agricultural economics student from Oliva who played for BOLD.

Steffen is a sophomore from Glenwood who played for Minnewaska. She was also an Academic All-American Scholar last year.
