The Alzheimer Society of New Brunswick hosts the annual IG Wealth

FREDERICTON, New Brunswick, May 16, 2024 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — The Alzheimer Society of New Brunswick invites individuals, families and community members to lace up their sneakers and participate in the annual IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimers, taking place in Seven Communities across the province on Sunday, May 26, 2024. The goal of this impactful event is to raise funds to support those affected by dementia while fostering a community committed to creating a world without Alzheimer's.

With over 12,000 New Brunswickers living with Alzheimer's or another form of dementia, the need for action and compassion has never been more urgent. Behind these breathtaking statistics are countless personal stories, like that of Marie-Paule Blanchard LeBlanc. Marie-Paule, events and philanthropy coordinator for the Alzheimer Society of NB, has a deeply personal connection to this cause. While Alzheimer's disease has always been close to her heart, her connection to the cause deepened when her father was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease just days before last year's walk.

Speaking about her experiences, Marie-Paule says: “Even though I have been working for the Alzheimer's Society for six years and have access to great experts with all the knowledge and support, this disease is still devastating in so many different ways.” Despite that With the challenges ahead, Marie-Paule emphasizes the importance of support on this journey and highlights the lifeline that the Alzheimer's Society offers those affected by dementia.

As Marie-Paule bravely faces the uncertainties that lie ahead, she thinks, “No one is ready for this journey, so help and support are vital lifelines, and that is exactly what the Alzheimer's Society offers.” You don't have to deal with dementia alone.”

The IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimers not only raises funds for essential services, but also provides an opportunity to connect with a community of people affected by the disease who want to see a world without dementia.
