Primary and outpatient services now open in the Łıwegǫ̀atì building

0

It was recently announced that the Northwest Territories Health and Social Services Authority welcomed its first patient for an appointment at the Łıwegǫ̀atì building.

This brings the NTHSSA one step closer to its goal of creating a “care campus” around Stanton Territorial Hospital. Its plan aims to improve the convenience and access to these services for Yellowknife residents and those who come to Yellowknife for their care.

Currently, primary care services and outpatient services such as audiology, child development team, occupational therapy, physical therapy and speech therapy are available.

While same-day appointments are offered in some cases at the Łıwegǫ̀atì building, most appointments will continue to be offered at the Yellowknife Primary Care Clinic. The appointment location will be confirmed after the appointment is booked.

With the opening of the new location, all outpatient services at Centre Square Mall and Stanton Medical Clinic are now closed. The NTHSSA has thanked staff for their work in setting up the new location, as well as residents for their patience over the coming months while workers settle into the new building.
