CHESTER, Pennsylvania.

CHESTER, Pa. (AP) — Samuel Piette scored for the first time this season in the 66th minute to lead CF Montreal to a 2-2 draw with Philadelphia on Saturday night in a Major League Soccer game in which Union's Jack Elliott and Montreal's Ariel Lassiter received red cards.

Montreal (4-7-5) took a 1-0 lead in the first minute when Sunusi Ibrahim scored for the third time in his last two games. Rookie Dominic Iankov had his second assist on Ibrahim's fifth goal of the season. Defenseman Ruan also had an assist, his fifth.

Montreal went into halftime with that lead, but in the 45th minute, Ariel Lassiter received a red card for violent conduct, leaving the club a man down at the start of the second half.

Dániel Gazdag converted a penalty in the 56th minute to put Union (4-4-8) on the scoreboard with his 10th goal of the season. Gazdag was awarded a penalty after being fouled by Montreal goalkeeper Sebastian Breza.

Two minutes later, Mikael Uhre put Philadelphia ahead when he took a pass from Quinn Sullivan and scored his fifth goal of the season. Sullivan's assist was his fifth of the season.

Elliott received a red card in the 63rd minute after already receiving a second yellow card and the game was level again.

Montreal equalized three minutes later, with rookie defenseman Joaquín Sosa scoring his first assist. It was Piette's third career goal in his eighth season with the club.

Breza finished his first start and first appearance for Montreal this season with a career-high eight saves. Breza made three saves in the first period to hold the Union scoreless.

Newcomer Oliver Semmle’s only save came in the second half for Union.

Defender Kai Wagner made his 150th regular season start for Philadelphia.

Philadelphia ended a four-game losing streak at home, but remained winless in its last five games. The Union had previously played two scoreless draws against Charlotte and Toronto. The club has a 1-5-2 record at home this season and has not beaten a visitor since a 2-0 win over Minnesota United at the end of March.

Both teams return to action on June 15, with Montreal hosting Real Salt Lake and the Union hosting Inter Miami.
