Chelsea winger Omari Hutchinson has spoken about his successful loan spell at Ipswich Town.

Omari Hutchinson joined Ipswich Town for the 2023/24 season and helped Kieran McKenna's side to promotion to the Premier League.

He was undoubtedly one of the club's best players this season and was named Young Player of the Year.

Previously, Hutchinson had scored ten goals and provided five assists in 44 championship games for the Tractor Boys.

What Chelsea did during Omari Hutchinson’s loan spell at Ipswich

Although there are rumors circulating that Hutchinson will leave Chelsea this summer, the club seemed genuinely interested in his development while he was at Portman Road.

The 20-year-old said Chelsea was constantly calling him to check on him and send him videos to help him improve.

Speaking on the club's official website, Hutchinson said of his loan: “Before he went to Millwall, I had Andy Myers who looked after me. He was a great guy who would always call me here and there and ask what I could improve on or where I was doing well.”

“Then Carlo Cudicini took over and did the same thing. He's a great guy too. He sent me clips of me improving and told me to just keep going.”

Chelsea should benefit from Omari Hutchinson's loan to Ipswich

Whatever happens to Hutchinson, the club's leaders should be happy.

If he stays or goes on loan, Chelsea will retain a player with a lot of potential. If they sell him, they could make quite a profit on someone who was signed for free.

According to football.london, Ipswich want to bring Hutchinson back to the club and are willing to pay £20 million for his signature.

It only makes sense for them to try to sign the former Arsenal youth player after his loan spell.

And with Chelsea potentially having to sell players due to Premier League profit and sustainability rules, the chances of getting him this summer are good.
