Obituary for Mary Hyson – East Granby, Manchester, CT

HYSON, Mary (Currie) Mary (Currie) Hyson, 92, of East Granby and formerly of Manchester, passed away peacefully Wednesday (August 22, 2007) in McLean. She was born in Lilly, PA, the daughter of the late William and Jennie (Gibson) Currie. She graduated from South Windsor High School and retired after 25 years of service to CBT. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and Douglas Price of East Granby. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Jodie Winsor and her husband, Fergus Higgins, of New York City, and Michael Winsor of East Granby, and several nieces and nephews. All of her siblings predeceased her. Mary was an active communicant of Assumption Church in Manchester. She was a kind and generous person who was very devoted to her family. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 24, at Rose Hill Funeral Home, 580 Elm St., Rocky Hill. Interment will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home between 10 and 11 a.m. shortly prior to the service. Mary's family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at McLean and McLean Hospice.
