New Brunswick RCMP investigating fatal shooting of 52-year-old in Pointe-Sapin – Winnipeg Free Press

POINTE-SAPIN CENTER, N.B. – RCMP in New Brunswick say they are investigating a homicide following a shooting in a community on the province's north shore.

According to a news release, officers were called to a home on Route 117 in Pointe-Sapin around 2 p.m. Saturday.

Officers reportedly found a 52-year-old man dead in the home, but no information was provided about anyone else living there.

Police said they found a 70-year-old suspect who was arrested with the help of a Parks Canada peace officer.

The man now faces murder charges and is scheduled to appear in Moncton provincial court on Tuesday.
