Hull City boss provides injury update and explains absence of Noah Ohio and Aaron Connolly

Hull City will have an almost full squad to rely on for the season-deciding game against play-off rivals Coventry City on Wednesday evening.

Only Anass Zaroury will miss the must-win clash with the Sky Blues at CBS Arena as he continues to recover from groin problems that have seen him sit out the last three games, although it is hoped he will be available for the final one Home game could be available on Saturday of the regular campaign against Ipswich Town.

Apart from Zaroury, head coach Liam Rosenior can rely on every other member of his City squad. Lewie Coyle is eyeing a return to the starting XI after being left on the bench in Saturday's 0-0 draw at Watford.

Strike duo Noah Ohio and Aaron Connolly were both left out of the squad at Vicarage Road but the pair are pushing for a return to the Midlands as City look for a win to end their faint hopes of defeating Norwich and West Brom preserves life.

“We’re looking good,” Rosenior told Hull Live. “Anass probably won’t make this game, hopefully on Saturday. Otherwise everyone is in good shape and looking forward to the game. “It's going, okay, his rehab is going well, but he still has pain in his groin and we can do it.” “I can't afford to take any chances with any player at this stage of the season.”

Neither Connolly nor Ohio were in the squad on Saturday as Rosenior named Billy Sharp and Liam Delap on his bench, but the two frontmen could be recalled, with the Tigers boss praising the level of training.

“Yeah, they’re back on my mind,” he said of Connolly and Ohio. “Noah – it’s just pure selection. Apart from Anass, I have a fully fit squad and it's hard to pick a bench and that's exactly where I'm at. I make these decisions based on performance in training, based on the opponent and Noah come to mind again, and as far as Aaron is concerned, the training is so good, there are certain players who train so well that it is impossible to leave them out.
