Woman charged with three felonies for allegedly committing stabbing incident and spitting at police officers | Idaho

LAPWAI – A woman was booked into the Nez Perce County Jail after she allegedly slashed a tire with a knife and then threw the knife at the owner of the vehicle.

On the evening of May 24, the Nez Perce County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a stabbing in the 300 block of Cloud Court in Lapwai.

According to court documents, the alleged victim told an officer who answered the call that 18-year-old Gabriella Rodriguez allegedly punctured a tire on her vehicle and then threw the knife at her. The knife, described as a “very large steak knife,” missed the victim. However, the officer noticed a puncture on the rear passenger tire of the victim's vehicle that appeared to match the size of the knife.

Rodriguez was tracked down nearby and denied the charges. She was eventually arrested. According to court documents, she spat in the face of the deputy and a Nez Perce tribal police officer as she was being placed in their patrol car.

Because of the alleged spitting incident, Rodriguez was charged with two counts of assault on certain persons. She was also charged with aggravated assault. All of the above charges are capital felonies. She is also charged with malicious damage to property.

Rodriguez was taken to the Nez Perce County Adult Detention Center. She appeared in court Tuesday and bail was set at $20,000. She is scheduled to appear in court again on June 5.
