Ramogi Nyagudi from Manitoba named to the Canadian men's U18 national team

TORONTO, ONT. (June 2, 2024) – Canada Basketball on Sunday announced the men’s U18 national team roster for the upcoming 2024 FIBA ​​U18 Men’s AmeriCup. The roster includes Manitoba’s Ramogi Nyagudi.

The 2024 FIBA ​​U18 Men's AmeriCup will be held from June 3 to 9 at the Estadio Obras Sanitarias in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Canada is in Group A, along with the Dominican Republic (June 3, 2:10 p.m. ET), Puerto Rico (June 4, 11:40 a.m. ET) and Venezuela (June 5, 11:40 a.m. ET).

Canada will be looking to improve on its performance at the last U18 tournament, where the Red-Whites won the bronze medal with an 81-57 ​​victory over this year's hosts Argentina.

The 2.31 m tall center Olivier Rioux is on the Canadian age group team for the fourth year in a row. Last summer he competed with the men's U19 national team and reached seventh place in the overall rankings.

Rioux and Jaion Pitt, who previously competed for the U17 (2022) and U19 (2023) national teams, will be targeted early and often due to their experience on the international stage.
