Accordingly The weather networkSummer forecast for the months of June, July and August, most Canada The coming season will see warmer temperatures than normal, fewer rainy days than a typical summer, and more sunshine than usual.

“This summer will be characterized by intense heat across the country, with most Canadians experiencing normal to above-average temperatures,” said Chris ScottChief Meteorologist at The Weather Network. “However, too much heat can bring risks, including the threat of local droughts and an increased risk of wildfires and poor air quality.”

Most Canada can expect near-normal or below-average rainfall for the season. However, the heat also brings with it the risk of occasional severe thunderstorms that can disrupt outdoor plans and cause damage. In addition, a very active hurricane season is expected in the Atlantic.

Below you will find a more detailed overview of the expected conditions in Canada this summer:

Ontario and Quebec (province) “A very hot and humid summer is expected, with an increased risk of prolonged heatwaves. There will be cooler spells of weather in June, but the heat will increase in July and August and continue into September. Longer dry spells are expected, with periods of high fire danger and the risk of smoke and poor air quality. However, the heat will also lead to severe storms at times.

British Columbia ” A typical summer is expected, meaning there will be periods of hot weather, but the heat should be less persistent and less severe than in recent summers. This summer will also bring the typical periods of dry weather, but isolated rain showers and thunderstorms are expected to be more frequent and widespread than in recent summers. However, wildfires will be a major problem throughout the summer, along with the risk of days of smoke and poor air quality.

The Prairies “A typical summer in most Albertabut a very warm summer is expected Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Drought is a major concern, especially in northern areas. However, an active storm track south of the US border is expected to temporarily shift northward. As a result, strong storms could interrupt extended dry periods and bring rainfall levels to near-normal levels. However, smoke from wildfires will continue to be a concern.

Atlantic Canada A very warm and humid summer is expected across the region, but cooler weather is also expected, especially in June and early July. The heat will peak in late July and August and could last into early September. Extended periods of very dry weather are likely, but we will be watching the tropics closely as an extremely active hurricane season is expected and some of these storms could hit the region and bring rainfall amounts to normal levels for the season.

Northern CanadaA warm summer is expected in the west Nunavut and the east of the Northwest Territories, and near-normal temperatures are expected in other parts of the region. Drought will continue to be a major problem in much of the region, particularly in the west Nunavut and eastern Northwest Territories. Wildfires, smoke and poor air quality are major concerns across the region this summer.
