Trois-Rivières – (Montreal Canadiens affiliate) Lions de Trois-Rivières defeated the Norfolk Admirals (Winnipeg Jets and Carolina Hurricanes affiliate) 5-4 on Friday night, leveling the teams' best-of-seven series in the first Round out one game each.

The home team Lions learned from their mistakes in the first game and started the second game strongly, taking an early lead with a goal from Tyler Hylland. Just under eight minutes later, Lions captain Cedric Montminy doubled his team's lead with his third goal of the series. However, the Admirals reduced the deficit to 2-1 after 13:48 minutes.

The Lions extended their lead in the second period as Trois-Rivières' top scorer this season – Jakov Novak – and last season – Anthony Beauregard – both beat Norfolk goalkeeper Yaniv Perets to give the Lions a 4-1 lead after 40 minutes of play -Provided leadership.

Although the Admirals scored three goals in the third period, including two in the final two minutes, the Lions were able to tie the series at 1-1.

The two teams will meet again on Saturday evening at 7:00 p.m. for the third game of the series, the last to be played at the Colisée Vidéotron.
