Driver strikes and kills worker on White Horse Pike in Magnolia, NJ – NBC10 Philadelphia


A utility worker was killed and several other people were injured in a traffic accident in Magnolia, New Jersey, on Wednesday morning. Due to the traffic accident, a section of the White Horse Pike was closed in both directions.

According to NBC10's news partner KYW Newsradio, police officials said a woman who appeared to be in her 60s drove through the parking lot of a Produce Junction in the 500 block of North White Horse Pike just before 10:30 a.m. and struck several American Water utility employees, sending one of the victims flying into oncoming traffic.

One worker was killed in the accident and four others were injured. Two of the survivors are in critical condition. According to KYW Newsradio, the driver was also injured after he crashed into the back of a garbage truck.

The driver was taken to the hospital and investigators are trying to determine whether she was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

SkyForce10 was over the accident scene and showed several police vehicles, an ambulance, a garbage truck and a white sheet in the middle of the road.

Due to the accident, White Horse Pike is currently closed between Evesham and Warwick roads.
