A woman and two men shot dead in Bowmanville, Ontario

A woman and two men are on the road to recovery after being shot in Bowmanville this morning.

Durham Regional Police responded to reports that someone had been shot in the area of ​​Concession Street East and Mearns Avenue around 12 p.m.

Officials have not said whether the incident occurred inside a home or outdoors.

Officers said that when they arrived at the scene, they found a 25-year-old man, a 25-year-old woman and a 22-year-old man – all with gunshot wounds.

Two of the victims were taken to a Toronto-area trauma centre and the third to a local hospital.

Fortunately, the injuries are not considered life-threatening, police said.

Authorities have not released any further information about the victims, including their place of residence.

The investigation is ongoing and the circumstances leading to the shooting, including whether it was a targeted maneuver or whether the victims knew the suspect(s), have not yet been confirmed by police.

Descriptions of the suspects and surveillance images are not currently available.

Members of the criminal investigation department and the forensic identification unit were on site and are leading the investigation.
